A New Blog

Perhaps you know, but my blog previously was hosted by BlueHost. It has been there for years and years. But recently it was hacked and held for ransom. Seriously!

The hacker infused any number of files on the blog with a malicious phishing code. BlueHost simply took the site offline, and this without alerting me. Their representatives then obligated me with removing the code from each and every file in which it occurred. Or, they noted, I could pay a fee with a service that would remove the malicious code. There is so much more to this story but the short of it is: I’m no longer with BlueHost.

The hack came from their end somehow, not mine. It could have been through the Wordpress version that is available for installation at their site, or perhaps through one or another of the plugins used for Wordpress. There are innumerable articles online about how Bluehost has been hacked. Regardless, it was terribly frustrating and I am pleased the saga appears to have ended.

I’ve migrated my blog to my present host, Squarespace. Perhaps I’ll need to move again, though I’m really and truly hoping that won’t have to happen any time soon. In the meantime, I’m recovering my blog posts, editing them, and will be reposting a selection of them over the coming weeks, months, and perhaps years. Some I will save as pages, though, and those likely will be material that I’ll work on in the hopes of publishing as books. Time will tell.
